Who’s been sleeping in the Alpha’s bed?

Exiled from his pack by his father, Brice Walker has secretly come home to visit his ailing grandmother only to discover a human and very desirable female sleeping in his bed. Their attraction is instant. But his new bed buddy seems determined to resist his Southern charm and Alpha allure.

For Brice, fiercely independent Cassie not only represents a chance to build a new life in Walker’s Run but is also his one true mate. Cassie’s reluctance dissolves when a rogue shifter kidnaps her, and now she and Brice must work together to save his pack. But once she witnesses the savagery of wolfan justice, can Cassie accept Brice as man, beast and her true love?

I have voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

“Sometimes our best intentions are our worst mistakes.

I like reading paranormal romances but I’m not that a fan. I actually don’t know what to expect from this book. But based on the synopsis, I might enjoy reading this.

I am happy to know that Ms. Kristal Hollis is a psychology degree holder like me. Anyway, here’s my review:

Who wouldn’t be scared of a wolf? Haha. I like the “wolfan non grata” thing. That is very unique and new.

Brice character is sexy and funny. I’m giving him thumbs up for his confidence, patience and self-control. But I don’t like how he’s not willing to move on and move forward with his past. He was blinded by lies that made him irrational.

As for Cassie, I don’t really know. I kind of don’t like her character. Though I like how she thinks that she should be independent and all. But I don’t understand why she keeps on dodging Brice every time he invited her for lunch or dinner. Is she portraying a hard-to-get or what? I understand that her mother did something, things just to live but I think it is just a simple invitation and just being kind to her. I hate Cassie for being closed minded. Sometimes her stand of being independent is not good and she became selfish.

The hot and cold game between Brice and Cassie keeps the story going. But also, the twists gave the spice in this story. I did not expect the twist with Hadler and Booker. I definitely did not see that coming. Oh, also, I love how Ms. Kristal use Pavlov’s experiment in her book.

Overall, I’m giving this 3.5 star. I felt that the story was slow in the middle and I sometimes hate Cassie for being selfish. But, I really enjoyed reading and I hope to read the next book.
